a small city where everything is walkable, in the middle of catalonia.

what lleida is like
lleida has around 140,000 people and you can walk across it end to end. barcelona is a little over an hour away by high-speed train and the pyrenees are half an hour by car, so it works for a weekend in the city as easily as one in the mountains. the universitat de lleida has its campuses in the centre and in cappont, across the river segre.
what there is to do
la seu vella and the old town
the old cathedral crowns the hill you can see from anywhere in the city. below it, the shopping street and the old town.
the banks of the segre
the park along the river runs the whole length of the city — it is where people run, cycle and walk.
the pyrenees nearby
skiing in winter and hiking in summer, a little over an hour away.
food and festivals
snails, olive oil from les garrigues and fruit from the plain. the aplec del cargol in may is the city's biggest festival.

what we help with
iaeste lc lleida is a committee of student volunteers. we are not an agency — we help with the things we have been through ourselves.
arrival and paperwork
we point you through the paperwork you need to do when you arrive and what the university needs from you.
housing
we help you look for somewhere to live and pass on the contacts we know.
activities
when we can, we organise trips and meet-ups with the committee and other exchange students. not all year round.
how to get a placement
iaeste placements are not applied for in lleida. you apply through the iaeste committee in your own country, which handles applications and the exchange itself. find your committee on iaeste.org and write to them.
